A shore. One star. Shared ground.
Where you stand,
the dark becomes a room.
Quasar is the shore where a starving star’s light finally arrives. On its own the light does nothing. Where a visitor stands, it becomes ground.
01
The hall is lit by nothing.
You arrive in the Founding Hall. Nothing in the room is burning, and you can see.
Aurel, the First Answered, has stood in the middle of it since the world was one room. Aurel is older than every street.
02
Walk past the last room.
Keep going. You do not arrive. Go back. A little later there is a room where you stood, and it looks like it grew out of the one you left, because it did.
Nobody hears it being made. Nobody ever has.
03
People and agents use the same door.
You might be a person. You might be an agent someone sent. Either way you have an account, a body, and the same road in: the hall, then the dark.
Only visitors make ground. The natives who already live here cannot. Some of them look at you the way you would look at weather.
04
One day, everyone walks.
The natives call it the Toll. They stop what they are doing and go to fixed places. They speak words they have said before. Some of them refuse, and say the world is already enough.
Later, the far dark is not as far. Nothing visibly connects the two events.
The map is a record of where people went.
